"The Valiant" is a taut prison drama in which a condemned man on the eve of his execution refuses to reveal his true identity, even to a young woman who suspects he may be her long-lost brother, choosing instead to protect his family from the shame of his crime and going to his death anonymously and, in his own way, heroically.
