Little Women
Directed By:
Cindy Gore
A stage adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic novel following the four March sisters — strong-willed aspiring writer Jo, gentle eldest sister Meg, musically gifted and shy Beth, and vain, artistic youngest sister Amy — as they come of age in Civil War-era New England while their father is away at war. The sisters navigate first loves, sibling rivalry, financial hardship, and profound loss under the guidance of their steady mother, Marmee, with Jo's determination to become a writer and her complicated relationship with childhood friend Laurie forming the emotional spine of the story. The story balances warm domestic comedy with real heartbreak, most notably Beth's illness, as the sisters grow from girlhood into womanhood. It remains a beloved coming-of-age classic for its portrait of sisterhood, ambition, and resilience.
