All Shook Up

A jukebox musical set to the songs of Elvis Presley, following a leather-jacketed, guitar-toting drifter named Chad who rolls into a straitlaced Midwestory town and, much like Elvis's own persona, upends the community's buttoned-down conformity with rock and roll, blue suede shoes, and a wave of romantic chaos. Chad's arrival sets off a tangle of mismatched crushes among the town's young people, while the local sheriff tries to enforce an ordinance against public dancing reminiscent of Footloose-style small-town repression. Loosely inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, the show uses more than twenty Presley classics, including Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, and Can't Help Falling in Love, to tell its lighthearted story of self-expression winning out over conformity. It's a high-energy, nostalgic jukebox musical built entirely around the King's most iconic songs.
